  • Solaris is the first ladies only club in Egypt promoting the idea of women practicing holistic wellness (social, mental, physical) and cater to women’s needs in order to help them integrate in today’s society rather than segregate and marginalize.
The building was constructed using reinforced concrete structure and block walls for external and internal partitioning, this is the cheapest and most common building technique in Egypt contrasted with large structural glazed openings and glass handrails.
Showing the value of traditional handcrafts, a blank irregular texture of rendered plastering was used for external and some of the internal walls finishing giving the appearance of primitive handwork and maybe spontaneous acceptable errors as well as the use of simplified traditional wood windows and doors and local stone wall cladding and marble flooring.
